Anse Royale Beach on Mahé, The Seychelles

Anse Royale is the longest beach on Mahé and estimated to be the second most popular. It is well protected by a fringing reef and is a lively beach at the weekends when the locals meet up for picnics and beach sports. The water is very calm and some small fishing boats are anchored just off the shore.

The nearby Ils Souris is supposed to offer excellent snorkelling and it is possible to swim to the tiny islet from Anse Royale.
