Hawaiian House Sparrow

Nine of these birds were brought to Hawaii in 1871 on a shipment from New Zealand. Less than 200 years ago there were no house sparrows in North America and now there are an estimated 150 million birds established in all 48 states, making them one of the most abundant songbirds on the continent.
