The Philippines might be considered as one of the most adventurous places to visit. With more than 7000 different islands, one could easily be lost when planning a trip to this wonderful place of the world. All of these islands are unique, with each having its very own peace of beauty that might stand out and astound you on the trip.
My trip to the Philippines turned out to be quite wonderful and joyous. With many things to see and a wonderful guide knowing exactly how to make your heart skip a beat, I managed to find a lot of time to see great places and explore this beautiful part of nature. Eventually, the trip had to come to an end and this is how the trip went as well as a few things that you could use as tips to make your stay a little better.
Finding a Great Resort
Finding a great resort turned out to be rather, not because of bad quality, but with so many great resorts, one could not make up your mind. Going for price and affordability seems like an option until you stay at Huma Island. The Palawan waters are extraordinary and they seem to bring out the best of nature that the island is made up of.
While the resort might be expensive, the entire island provides plenty of hiking opportunities. Giving a backpacker the ability to take some extravagant photos. However, you should consider a decent backpacker camera if you want the best quality and bring out the best in each picture for your memory album.
Exploration and Places to Visit on Your Trip
If you consider yourself something of a couch potato, these islands will not be the best option for you. With so many hiking and even backpacking opportunities all over the Philippines, it might be time for you to break out the old sleeping bag and dust it off. Nature is beautiful around the area and this makes the perfect sightseeing opportunities. Here are a couple of excellent places I had the opportunity of seeing:
Coron
With some of the most beautiful wrecks and a few corals, Coron is one of the best places to get started on your trip to the Philippines. Traveling this area might not be accomplished in one day and you might need to consider making it a week trip. I spent four days in this area, giving me enough time to view 10 different places, but with so many more places to see, 4days seemed to be a little too short.
Hiking routes are plentiful in this specific part of the world and you have a couple of mountains that need to be endured as well. Backpacking routes can be found for the avid outdoor enthusiasts and having a great sleeping bag is recommended, especially if you make your trip in the winter.
El Nido
Staying in the Palawan province, you will find El Nido and personally, it seems to be a little similar to Coron with some of the only differences being to beaches and the majestic caves. Explorers will find El Nido a great area to spend some time and with a lot of time on your hands, it is great to learn something about the earlier generations of this magnificent country.
Cebu City

I am not always the best at following rules and according to most travel itineraries, Cebu City is one of the best starting points for those looking to enjoy the Philippines. I found some time to make a trip to this beautiful area and see what all the fuss is about and after seeing it, you will know why this is one of the travel hotspots in the Philippines.
Classic museums and pieces of art can be found here in the city and for those looking to experience some great cuisine; this will be the spot to visit. Aside from the monuments and museums, I found the locals to be extremely helpful and teach you so much about the area. Cebu City is one of the best spots for those interested in the culture and the history of the country.
Boracay
Not to be too biased and influence your decisions, but much like most of the travelers before me, Boracay seems to be the ultimate destination in the Philippines. The beaches are magnificent and the ocean is perfect for water sports. This part of the country is generally full; with tourists and most people will come only to relax on these beaches. I found it a soothing and relaxing experience in Boracay.
Mayon Volcano
Before leaving this wonderful country, I found some time to view one of the most magnificent volcanoes in the world. According to CNN, this volcano is one of the best for those looking to take pictures and capture amazing photos, which is exactly what I did in my time here. If the nightlife of Boracay seems to be a little overwhelming, this will be a great place to escape and enjoy something a little different.
Final Thoughts on my Trip
While I had no real issues in the country and the locals seemed to be rather helpful and enjoy some company, it is worth noting that danger does lie around some of the corners and you need to keep yourself safe if you travel to the Philippines. Many first time travelers have been ripped off with swindles and traveling in groups are considered to be the best, especially if it is your first time.
Overall, the Philippines will be what you make of the country and if you make the best of what they have to offer, you will enjoy your trips. These are only 5 of the places and there are much more to visit. However, visiting the Philippines is something you need a lot of time for if you need to see and experience everything.
