Dubrovnik, Croatia
Arguably made more recognisable by the hit TV show, Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik overlooks the crystal clear Adriatic Sea, and is a magnificent walled city and a Unesco World Heritage Site.
When you visit Dubrovnik, the city walls is a must-see attraction; the walls were first built in the 9th century, and you can circle the city, viewing the blue sea and the stunning Old Town. For Game of Thrones fans, the city now offers tours of filming locations, where you can recreate famous scenes.
Rome, Italy
History lovers rejoice, Rome is the place to truly connect with the medieval world while enjoying the wonders of modern life. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the incredible architecture of some of the most famous empires in history still stands to this day.
This includes the Colosseum, which was first constructed in AD 72, and was a hub of entertainment, featuring gladiatorial contest and mock battles for the Roman citizens centuries ago. Today, it is one of the biggest attractions in Rome, with a museum dedicated to Eros (the God of desire) on the upper floor.
