Sun, sea, sand and relaxation are among the prominent ideas associated with taking a vacation. The only issue arising from such an idea of vacationing is the notable absence of one very key part of Christian life. Where does God fit into the equation? As believers looking to constantly serve and worship Him in everything that is done, how can a vacation with no ties to the Master truly please Him?
Remembering the song “Footprints in the Sand” sung by Cristy Lane, having trust is the basis of being a Christian. The Lord has an uncanny ability to put His people in every stratum of society and with their ingenuity, there are many vacations which have a dual feature. On one hand, a person or family can explore the depths of their own souls. On the other hand, there are times scheduled in the package which will allow a person to draw closer to their Creator. Even with the entire family, each member will have a personal experience and a resoundingly great time.
Visiting the Sites of Old
For the highly discerning traveler, there are vacations built around the history of Christianity. As such tours to the Old World are a great place to start. There are many tours to Israel which will have you visiting the old sites. These sites will include the birthplace of Jesus, the location of His crucifixion, His old tomb, and many other locations where he lived, prayed, and performed miracles. While in Israel, if you are a beach body, there are a few famous bodies of water that can be visited. Do you remember when the Lord walked on water; or fed the five thousand? Maybe you remember Him walking on water? All of these miracles occurred at one location and that is at the freshwater Sea of Galilee.

The Dead Sea is also another very famous body of water found in Israel. Unlike the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea is a saltwater body which has a very high concentration of minerals. This makes the water extremely dense and persons can float in the Dead Sea much easier compared to other bodies of water.
Moving from the Old Sites to the New Sites
If you are operating on a more limited budget, a Christian cruise may be better. These cruises can take place across the world and similar to any other cruise, there are many ports of call. The main difference here is the fellowship, training, and worship that will occur in between ports. Christian cruises can either be used for the family or for the single believer looking for a great time and maybe a partner.
There is an allure that Europe has given its prominent place in recent recorded history. Countries such as England have the C. S. Lewis Tour and sites in Germany hosts tours of the European Reformation where a believer can use Christian art and literature to walk through the Protestant Reformation.
