Mudgee, NSW is a small town with a big personality. It’s a great place to visit any time of year and there are plenty of things to do on your trip!

The Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Mudgee is in winter. Why? Because it’s not as crowded, the temperatures are milder and you can avoid the summer heat!

The best months for a visit would be March, April, and May. If you’re planning on going during this time of year, make sure to pack layers and a jacket because even though it may be warm during the day, night temps can drop significantly.

If your budget allows it, consider staying at one of Mudgee’s resorts or hotels which offer great value for money during the off-peak season (winter).

Getting to Mudgee

Mudgee is located in the heart of the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, about a three-hour drive from Sydney. It’s an excellent option for anyone looking to get out of the city and enjoy some real Australian country life. If you’re coming from anywhere else in Australia, it will likely take you longer than two hours to drive here—but that just means you’ll have more time to enjoy your surroundings once you get there!

The best way to get into Mudgee is via airplane; Yennora Airport (YNN) has flights arriving daily from Sydney airport. While renting a car may be an option if you plan on going off-road or visiting other areas around NSW, most travelers prefer taking trains or buses since they make it much easier when trying not only to save money but also to keep track of what’s going on around town as well as when returning home after exploring everything Mudgee has to offer!

Where to Stay in Mudgee

There are many places to stay in Mudgee, but here are three of the best. Best Mudgee accommodation is a great place to stay if you’re looking for one.

The Holiday Park is right next door to St Andrews Anglican Church — which happens all year round at 10 am every Saturday — so if you want a religious experience while visiting Mudgee, this might be right up your alley! It also offers great views over Lake Cowal courtesy of its elevated position on top of Conroy’s Hill Road so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to see what direction we’re heading next time!
