It’s good to see that London has a number of outdoor events and festivals in the pipeline, as well as some interesting activity options for when the weather turns. Unlike some festivals out in the countryside, London festivals are easy to reach, with some attendees taking advantage of a private drive to arrive in style.
So let’s have a look at some major London event dates for your diary:
London Craft Beer Festival
Nothing goes hand in hand with sunny weather quiet like a cold beer, so this year’s London Beer Festival has chosen an apt spot in the calendar. Revellers will have the pick of some choice ale from noted craft brewers such as Stone & Wood, Brew Dog, Beavertown, Thornbridge Brewery, The Kernel and Gipsy Hill. Not only that, but there will be scrumptious street food on offer to accompany the ‘amber nectar’. The event is held from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August at the Shoreditch Electric Light Station, which is just a few minutes drive from central London, via taxi or luxury chauffeur.

Mail Rail
September is a month when you just don’t know if it will feel like summer or autumn, so it’s good to have some activities planned which aren’t exposed to the outdoors. Mail Rail (Monday 4th to Tuesday 5th September) is a chance to take a fascinating ride on the now defunct ‘secret’ rail line which the Post Office used to ship mail between Whitechapel and Paddington station. This promises to be an intriguing chance to experience the mystical track by riding along it, so don’t miss out. The pick up point is situated in Clerkenwell.

51st State Festival
Londoners know that you don’t need to venture into the wilds in order to find the best dance music the world has to offer outdoors. The 51st State Festival takes place at Trent Park, within close proximity to the Middlesex University campus. It’s a long ride on the tube, so you may want to consider a chauffeur car service to do the journey in comfort. This event on Friday 5th August features a ‘Hall of Fame’ house music line up – from the likes of Masters at Work to Derick Carter, Norman Jay MBE and Todd Terry.

Jubilee Market 30th Anniversary celebration
The Jubilee Market has been integral to the Covent Garden experience, transforming this part of central London into a vibrant centre full of attention grabbing stalls and eye-catching performers. This weekend (Friday 4th – Sunday 6th August) will be no exception, and in celebrating 30 years since the market was reopened by the Queen as part of her own Jubilee celebrations, there will be even more going on than usual, including a children’s lucky dip, face painting, and different art stalls. Jubilee Market is situated right next to Covent Garden in London’s West End.

London Literature Festival
When summer turns into autumn, it’s a great time to snuggle down under the covers with a good book, or you could venture out to the London Literature Festival (Friday 13th October to Wednesday 1st November) situated at the Southbank Centre, on the River Thames. You can look forward to 20 days of book related events, including workshops, talks, and live readings, and the line up includes author Philip Pullman. The Southbank Centre is easily accessed by public transport links, and any taxi driver or chauffeur in London should know their way there!

Sunfall
Another in the growing series of London dance music festivals, Sunfall takes pride of place on Friday 12th August in Brockwell Park, Brixton, where Londoners will gather for a high-quality line-up which includes the likes of Ben UFO, world music guru Gilles Peterson, Madlib, Palms Trax and Theo Parish. Revellers heading to the event from central London might like to take
the short walk from Brixton Town Centre, where they can sample the sights, smells and culinary offerings of Brixton Market, part of the South London district’s lively Caribbean community. Brockwell Park is just a few minutes up the hill from the Brixton High Road itself, so take a stroll, or arrive in style with the best chauffeur London has to offer.
