1) Gateway Of India

It is also important historically because after India’s independence the last British troops departed from this monument. Built in Indo-Saracenic architecture, its iconic arch is 26 metres high. The arch overlooks the Arabian Sea, which adds to its overall beauty.

2) Mount Mary Church
Believers say that if you make a wish sincerely at this 100-year old church in Bandra, it is granted. Some people also claim that the statue inside the church was brought from Portugal by Jesuits in the 16th century.
Mount Mary church attracts hundreds of tourists all-round the year, but it’s especially visited during the annual Bandra fair. During the fair, the church is surrounded by stalls selling sweets, snacks, and other religious articles.
3) Elephanta Caves
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is located off the coast of Mumbai. To reach Elephanta caves, you need to take a boat from Gateway of India. Dating back to the 5th century, these caves are a treasure trove of architectural brilliance in Mumbai.
The seven caves are filled with sculptures that are of Hindu and Buddhist origins. Among them, a 20 feet high monolithic rock-cut sculpture called Trimurti Sadashiva is extremely beautiful. Anyone who is interested in history and architecture shouldn’t miss these caves.

In Hindi, the name Chor Bazaar means a market of thieves. Because of this, some people believe that some of the things sold at this market are actually stolen goods. Others dismiss this theory and put forth another reason for its name.
Being a crowded market, it was called “Shor Bazaar”, which means “noisy market” in Hindi. Eventually, “Shor” began to be mispronounced as “Chor”. Whichever version of the story you choose to go ahead with, you can be sure of one thing — Chor Bazaar is a shopper’s paradise.
