In the heart of Palma de Mallorca the most important buildings and monuments from across Spain have been recreated. The cobbled streets of the walled city within a city connect the main venues with the ‘Palacio de Congresos’ and the the amphitheatre.

Pueblo Español (or Poble Espanyol) was built between 1965 and 1968 by the Spanish architect, Fernando Chueca Goitia. The aim was to offer residents and visitors to Mallorca the opportunity to enjoy Spain’s rich architecture in a 24,000 square-metre open-air museum, which replicates a medieval walled city.

The complex hosts 72 examples of Spanish architecture from different periods in Spanish history including Arabic styles, gothic, baroque and renaissance. Reproductions of famous buildings from Cordoba, Toledo, Madrid and Granada, such as the famous Alhambra Palace, the Chapel of Saint Anthony and Christ of the Lanterns can be seen.

It is the third largest replica in the world and the only one that was built as a tourist attraction.

Pueblo Español is open for tourist visits from November to March from 9:00 to 17:00 and from April to October from 10:00 to 18:00. Space rental for conferences, conventions, weddings and parties, as well as co-working offices are available.
