Want to free yourself from the damp and fog of the British Isles? Maybe you have a bright, summery holiday in mind. Or — just maybe — you’d be interested in exploring the golden landscapes of Nevada.

If you feel the American desert is bleak and desolate, then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. The state is home to captivating nature reserves, fantastic rock formations, and pristine waterways. And, of course, it’s home to the Entertainment Capital of the World: Las Vegas.

While there are many exciting destinations in the USA, there is no place like Las Vegas. Sin City is known for its vibrant nightlife, fine dining establishments, and world-class casinos. With more than 100 establishments to choose from, though, it’s easy to get lost in all the glitz and glamour. That’s why we’ve compiled this list of Las Vegas’ best casinos to help you plan your trip!

MGM Grand: best for casual players

If you’re not particularly committed to the full casino experience but still want to dip your toes in the water, this might be the place for you. Aside from your regular casino haunts, the MGM Grand lets you try your hand at beer pong, billiards, and LEVEL UP, an entire arcade geared for adults. And if you want to focus-group new shows from Viacom, head on over to CBS Television City.

El Cortez Hotel and Casino: best vintage feel

A visit to El Cortez is perfect if you want to experience the Old Vegas. Located on the historic Fremont Street, this casino was once partially owned by Ben ‘Bugsy’ Siegel, who played a big role in developing the Strip.

El Cortez uses both old-school and modern casino equipment, so bask in the vintage vibe offered by its décor and diverse clientele. They even offer free online play, so you can practice before playing your preferred casino games.

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas: widest game selection

If you decide to drop by The Venetian, you’re certain to have an unforgettable time. Along with its sister establishment, the Palazzo, this casino literally gives you hundreds of games to choose from, so you’re sure to find one perfect for you.

And when we say The Venetian is massive, we mean it. There are novelty games and other casino staples like blackjack, baccarat, and craps. If you love slots, there are over 1,000 one-armed bandits to choose from. For those who love more competitive play, the Venetian poker room is the largest poker room in Las Vegas, capable of hosting mixed games at any hour of the day. Its 35 tables mean it’s ready for anything from casual play to full-blown tournaments, including monthly DeepStack events that guarantee six-figure prizes.

That’s not all The Venetian has to offer, though. You can conquer its 40-foot rock-climbing wall, indulge in the healthiest gourmet eats offered by its two high-end restaurants, or even hop into a gondola in the indoor replica of the Plaza de San Marco.

Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa: most amenities offered

One of the biggest selling points of Red Rock is that it’s not on the Strip. In fact, it’s the first billion-dollar establishment to be built outside the strip. You’ll find it a little out of town, at the base of Las Vegas Valley’s Spring Mountains.

By day, let yourself be mesmerised by the imposing mountains and, come nightfall, head indoors and play the game of your choice. You can even go further: Red Rock has beautifully-landscaped pools, a world-class spa, a movie theatre, and even a bowling alley. And T-Bones’ Chophouse is ready to cure all your steak-related cravings.

The STRAT Hotel, Casino, & Skypod: best view

America’s tallest freestanding observation tower offers a wealth of casino games while providing the best view in the city — complete with a rotating restaurant and even a rooftop pool.

The Strat also boasts of various thrill-seeking attractions like SkyJump, the world’s highest commercial decelerator descent. Here, you can suit up, tie yourself to a harness, and jump off a platform 855 feet high. Indeed, if you consider yourself a thrill-seeker, The Strat can give you that adrenaline rush both at and away from the poker table.
