The gourmet highlight of our recent luxury holiday in Thailand? The answer is easy. Dining at Climax Restaurant in Absolute Bangla Suites in Patong, Phuket.

A good meal isn’t just about the quality of the food. Of course, that’s fairly important, however so is the atmosphere, setting and staff; the overall experience. At Climax Restaurant, we enjoyed great food and fabulous cocktails, served with huge smiles, in a unique, rooftop setting with a rather special view overlooking the heart of Patong. Oh, and did I mention that Climax Restaurant also has a pool? True waterside dining!
When it came to deciding which luxury resort in Thailand to stay in, we couldn’t go past Absolute Bangla Suites on Patong Beach. As this was our first visit to the Land of Smiles we wanted to spoil ourselves. The beachside location is hard to beat, and the rooms are the epitome of tropical relaxation. We easily settled into your typically relaxed holiday routine, and if we didn’t feel like the two minute walk from our room to the sand, we simply headed to the fifth floor of our hotel to enjoy some sunshine at the Climax bar and pool.
The Climax bar starts to fill up in the late afternoon, as people arrive to take advantage of the happy hour between 16.30 – 18.30. The chilled beats, combined with exotic sounding cocktails like the Bangla Breeze and Absolute Andaman, are the perfect pre-dinner entertainment as you watch the sun fade over the rooftops of the city and out over the sea.
It’s easy to settle in for the evening at Climax. The décor is stylish, modern and comfortable. There’s a nautical feel befitting of its proximity to the sea. With the pool, bar, and lounges you could almost be relaxing on the aft-deck of your private yacht.
Bangla Suites
The lunch menu offers a mix of Thai and international favours perfect for a light meal, from Pad Thai to nachos and even a good old BLT when that bacon craving is just too strong! The evening menu offers a more gourmet selection. Our favourites included the giant Thai shrimp cake with tropical fruit salsa and the beef massaman curry.
When the sun had finally set and we’d finished up our meals, the hardest decision remaining was whether to enjoy one more drink on the rooftop overlooking the sparkling lights of the city or to head out into the buzzing Patong evening.
