Las Vegas has long been a popular destination for adults looking to blow off some steam on their birthday or host an epic bachelor party, but there are also lots of family-friendly options in Sin City.

From roller coasters to wild animals and everything in between, Vegas has proven itself to be much more than just a party town for the 21 and over set.

This article will highlight some of the top family activities in Las Vegas to help those traveling with little ones plan a trip to remember.

Top Family-Friendly Activities in Las Vegas

Visitors of all ages will appreciate the spectacular Bellagio fountains. The world-famous musical water show runs every day, barring high desert winds, and can be viewed on the following schedule:

Monday – Friday: 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (every 30 minutes), 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (every 15 minutes); Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (every 30 minutes), 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (every 15 minutes)

The best part of this attraction is it’s free! Simply stand in front of the Bellagio hotel or on the nearby walkway bridge for the best view. While beautiful during the day, the fountains really impress at night.

What kid doesn’t love animals? The aquarium at Mandalay Bay is always a treat, as is the Secret Garden mini-zoo inside The Mirage.

Another fun thing for the kids to do in Vegas is visit the Coke factory. The World of Coca-Cola is set on the Strip (between MGM Grand and the Hard Rock Cafe) and offers visitors flavors of Coke they’ve likely never even heard of before, much less tasted! Sampler trays offering 16 different flavors start at $7, making this is a fun and inexpensive way to pass some time.

There are lots of family activities in Las Vegas for those who want to venture off the Strip or get a taste of age-appropriate adventure. Check out the Fremont Street Experience for an impressive light display that will leave little ones dazzled, or head to the top of the Stratosphere for amazing views and thrill rides.

Unfortunately, one of the best family-friendly attractions in Vegas has recently closed. Flightlinez at Fremont allowed visitors to zip line through the FSE and high over the heads of tourists below for about $20, but the company shut down their Vegas location in 2013.

Travelers who have already booked their trip and were looking forward to some adventure might consider visiting Vegas Indoor Skydiving, riding the roller coaster atop the New York, New York hotel or checking out the action-packed Adventuredome Theme Park at Circus Circus.

Many families who come to Vegas are surprised to find Sin City is much more than cocktails and showgirls, but the truth is Las Vegas is whatever a visitor makes of it. With so many options in just a few square miles, there is truly a little something for everyone!
